At this moment I intend to major in mechanical engineering. I want to study mechanical engineering because it has many potential applications. Moreover, mechanical engineering can be combined with a wide variety of STEM subjects. I could combine my major with chemistry or biology which opens all sorts of opportunities. This could go work in the medical field or I could go as far as assisting in the creation and launching of rocket ships or rovers.

A famous mechanical engineer I found is named Aaron Yazzie. He is a mechanical engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He graduated from Stanford in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. During his time at college, he interned at NASA research centers. The five words I would use, to sum up, my understanding of Mr. Yazzie, would be diversity, curiosity, perseverance, dedication, and pride. I chose to research this person because of his work with NASA rovers that have been sent to mars. I find the topic and content of his work extremely interesting and a potential avenue of research I would like to pursue.
